Amy is Chief Impact Officer at Tribe, responsible for maintaining the impact integrity of both the business and the investments as they relate to delivery of the UN SDGs. Amy works with clients, policy makers, fund managers, senior business leaders and NGOs to identify the most materials levers for positive social and environment change.

Amy is a climate and soil scientist by training at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Amy has worked in sustainability for over 30 years, previously working at PwC, EY, Microsoft and Bank of America. She co-founded Tribe in response to a clear market demand for better risk management and values alignment in investing, and the knowledge that using the UN SDGs as a guide could achieve both.

Outside of work, Amy is the Co-Chair of B Lab UK and a trustee on the global board of Client Earth. She is also on the Global Steering Group of the Global Ethical Finance Initiative. Any other spare time is spent indulging her passion of gardening and restoration or taking her beloved three-legged rescue dog swimming.

In another life...

I’d either be a litigation lawyer focussed on human rights and the environment, or a vet. The former to maintain the rule of law and use it in defence of what is right. The latter because there is no greater gift than the ability to heal, and no greater connection than that we find with animals.

The most unusual job I’ve ever had...

Was as a bike mechanic in the South of France during a year off before university. Got a puncture or sticky gears? I’m your gal.

Amy’s ImpactDNATM

Amy’s values are most closely aligned with sustainable ecosystems. Amy passionately believes that Nature teaches us all we need to know about the changes we must make to ensure everyone and everything thrives.

She believes that the root cause of so much of what we face as a global community stems from our disconnect and lack of engagement with Nature, and, therefore, with ourselves. She believes that the wisdom of our ancestors, still firmly rooted in indigenous peoples, has been lost and that their wisdom and many of those values need to be mainstreamed into finance if we are to create the resilient, regenerative and equitable new world we need.

Amy also strongly feels that by empowering women and girls we seed the conditions for all forms of equality and immeasurably strengthen society and business in terms of contribution, decision making and action.

Sustainable Ecosystems focuses on the boundaries that Nature sets.
